MP urges residents to apply for grants to conserve Hawkesbury’s rich heritage
Hawkesbury MP Robyn Preston wants to encourage applications for funding for projects that identify, conserve and celebrate Hawkesbury’s rich heritage.
The Minister responsible for Heritage, Don Harwin, said the aim of the NSW Heritage Grants program was for communities to better understand and preserve their heritage and to make it more resilient to natural disasters and climate change.

Ms Preston is urging individuals and community groups to apply for the funds to undertake projects that deliver heritage outcomes.
The applications for the 2021-23 program, which will unlock more than $5 million for heritage projects across NSW, are open until February.
“Local Aboriginal Land Councils, heritage owners and custodians, and community are just some of the groups that benefit from this program,” Ms Preston said.
“If you need extra funding to prepare heritage management documents, to conserve heritage or want to celebrate and promote heritage, then I’d strongly encourage you to apply.”
The NSW Heritage Grants program has been delivering heritage outcomes across the state for more than 40 years.
Applications in this competitive funding round are open until 5pm Monday, 8 February 2021.
Applicants must read the program guidelines to ensure they and the proposed project are eligible. For more information about the NSW Government’s 2021-23 NSW Heritage Grants program, visit: the https://www.heritage.nsw.gov.au/grants/
