Just a clarification about North Richmond Fun Factory which is temporarily closed. We’ve just been talking to the manager there and the reason for its closure is not due to COVID – which is very good news.
The Centre at North Richmond’s Elizabeth Street is currently temporarily closed because of the low number of attendees during the school holidays.
The centre will be open again on Tuesday October 5.
At the moment, the numbers of cases in the Hawkesbury do not seem to have changed, so we’ll keep an eye on that because detailed figures out this afternoon are always a better guide to our local numbers.
In the last 24 hours, there have been 1063 new NSW cases of COVID.
Six people with COVID – four women and two men – have sadly died in the last 24 hours, none from the Hawkesbury.
Three people were from western Sydney, two people were from south western Sydney and one person was from Dubbo.
Of those who died, four people were not vaccinated. One person – a woman in her 90s – had received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and one person – a woman in her 50s with significant underlying health conditions – had received two doses.
A woman in her 90s from Dubbo died at St Mary’s Villa Aged Care Facility in Dubbo where she acquired her infection. This is the fourth death linked to an outbreak at this facility.
There have been 266 COVID-19 related deaths in NSW since 16 June 2021 and 322 in total since the start of the pandemic.
There have been 50,123 locally acquired cases reported since 16 June 2021, when the first case in this outbreak was reported.
There are currently 1244 COVID patients admitted to hospital, with 233 people in intensive care, 112 of whom require ventilation.
There were 139,182 COVID-19 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with the previous day’s total of 133,839.
NSW Health administered 35,121 COVID-19 vaccines in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, including 5,704 at the vaccination centre at Sydney Olympic Park.
Across NSW, 83.6 per cent of the over-16 population has received a first dose COVID-19 vaccine, and 55.5 per cent are fully vaccinated to 11.59pm on Tuesday 21 September 2021.
The total number of vaccines administered in NSW is now 9,234,063 with 3,344,232 doses administered by NSW Health to 8pm last night and 5,889,831 administered by the GP network and other providers to 11.59pm on Tuesday 21 September 2021.
