Following recent rainfall across Sydney’s water supply catchments, Warragamba Dam will begin spilling overnight through the crest gates, WaterNSW has just reported at 11.10am.
Today’s water level at the Dam is 99% full.
“The spill from the dam may continue for approximately one week. River users may notice a small increase in river heights over this period,” said a Water NSW spokesperson.
They have been manually releasing water from Warragamba for several weeks, following the high rainfall levels – with more to come over this following week.
River users should refer to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) website for river heights, weather forecasts and warnings, say WaterNSW, but we’ll also keep you updated here.
