Council sponsor IDAHOBIT Day event at Richmond Cinema
Today is IDAHOBIT day – which if you didn’t know, is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia & Transphobia.
Hawkesbury Council is asking residents to show their support for our LGBTIQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Queer and Plus) community and join in tomorrow at a special event hosted by Miranda Fair at Richmond Regent Theatre.
IDAHOBIT Day celebrates the LGBTIQ+ communities, promotes greater understanding, and is a reminder of work still to be done to combat discrimination.
The celebration will be hosted by Hawkesbury Community Outreach Services and will feature a free screening of the movie Grease.
It will be a sing-a-long and dress-up event with prizes for best dressed. There will also be information stalls, refreshments, and giveaways. Activities start at 5:30pm and the movie will start at 6:30pm. Bookings are essential by calling 0449 121 956. Please scan the QR code provided on arrival.
This event is being held in partnership with a number of local services, demonstrating the commitment throughout the Hawkesbury to recognising and celebrating diversity in our community.
Proudly sponsored by Hawkesbury City Council and supported by Hawkesbury Community Outreach Services (HCOS), the AIDS Council of Australia (ACON) and The Women’s Cottage.
