Driver in critical condition following head-on collision at Vineyard
A 35-year-old man has received fractures to his leg, injuries to his abdomen and suspected spinal injuries after his vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with another car at the intersection of Commercial Road and Boundary Road, Vineyard at 11.40 this morning.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance shortly before 11:40am and landed 15 minutes later in a property next to the incident where NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment.
Trapped man receives treatment as SES work to get him out of the crashed vehicle
Working with emergency services personnel from the State Emergency Service who were extricating the patient, CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the man, including an ultrasound to assess his injuries, while he was still in the vehicle.
CareFlight helicopter landed next to the crash site
Taking spinal precautions with the patient, CareFlight’s clinical team continued providing care as the man was taken by road with NSW Ambulance in a critical condition to Westmead Hospital.
