For some, the most pressing election issue – where can I get a democracy sausage on polling day?
It’s an Aussie voting tradition – turn up to pick your favourite candidate and grab a sausage in bread at the same time.
Many of these events also help schools and organisations raise funds, so we’re all winners on the day.
Here are the ones we know about now, and we’ll add any we’ve missed if you message us.
Hobartville Public School – 8am to 2pm – Sausage sizzle, drinks and baked goods available.
Richmond North Public School – 8am to 2pm – BBQ – sausage sizzle – cake stall, soft drinks and water and assorted cakes.
Hawkesbury High School – 7am to 3pm – Sausage sizzle operated by Freemans Reach Public School P&C.
Oakville Public School – 8am to 2pm (unless sold out prior) offering bacon & egg rolls, sausage & onion sandwiches, drinks, cakes.
Kurrajong East Public School – from 8am.
Bilpin Public School fundraiser @ Bilpin Public Hall – 8am – 2pm, sausage sandwiches, bacon & egg sandwich, non-alcoholic cider, water, cakes and baked goods.
Kurmond Public School – Barbecue, cakes, slices, biscuits.
Windsor High School – from 8am. Bacon & Egg sandwiches, sausage sandwiches, drinks, cake stall and barista coffee.
