Free Community Event – Preparing your home for Bushfire & Ecotherapy
On Sunday 2 June, Kurrajong Heights Bowling Club is hosting an informative free community event, which promises to be a day of engaging activities, essential knowledge sharing, and the opportunity for community connection.
The event will comprise an Ecotherapy Session, followed by a talk about preparing your home for bushfire and understanding your bushfire attack level, or BAL.
The BAL awareness is particularly critical information for the Hawkesbury, especially those in Bilpin, whose memory of the devastating Gospers Mountain Fire in October 2019 is still fresh. The fire, which burnt 512,626 hectares across various districts, including Lithgow, Hawkesbury, Hunter Valley, Lower Hunter, Cudgegong, Blue Mountains, and Central Coast, has left a lasting impact on the region, and the session is a fantastic way to get prepared well before the next fire season.
The event, hosted by the Kurrajong Heights Bowling Club, and sponsored by Hawkesbury City Council, is free for the community and includes morning tea and lunch. To book your place, call Eric on 0438 731 712.
