Hawkesbury community rallies behind Stoneman family after devastating fire destroys home
The Hawkesbury community has come together to provide support and assistance to the Stoneman family, longtime residents of Kurrajong, as they face the devastating loss of their family home to a fire.
On Tuesday, flames consumed the Stoneman’s residence, despite the best efforts of multiple local fire fighters. Emergency response from the Kurrajong Rural Fire Brigade, along with neighbouring brigades such as Grose Vale RFB, Glossodia RFB, Wilberforce RFB, and Blaxland Ridge RFB attended the blaze. For Wilberforce RFS the fire was particularly close to home, with the premises belonging to one of its members.
The Stoneman family, are known for their deep roots in the local community and active involvement in local organizations , including being long term members of RFS.
Recognizing the urgent need to help the family rebuild their lives as quickly as possible, locals have established a fundraising campaign, urging community members to contribute whatever they can to assist the family during this time. Almost half of the $10,000 target has been raised.
To contribute to the Stoneman family’s rebuilding efforts, a GoFundMe page has been set up. Every donation, regardless of its size, will go a long way in helping the Stonemans rebuild their lives following their devastating loss.
