Hawkesbury Good Blokes arrive on International Mens Day
Hawkesbury Police’s Chief Inspector Garry Sims APM is helming the group and says, “we are calling on men in the Hawkesbury to support the concept that good blokes don’t engage in domestic violence, good blokes don’t drink and drive and good blokes are prepared to seek help if they are doing it tough.
“Men make such a positive contribution to our community and we look forward to engaging with male leaders to show case their role model achievements,” Ch Insp Sims told the Post.
“Our objective is to encourage and promote gender equality to young men and call upon our male leaders to assist us in showing how gender equality can deliver a safer community.”
Mr Sims will be supported by other police colleagues, as well as community partners, including Richmond Community Services as main partner.
Interested blokes are invited to attend the inaugural meeting on Nov 29 at Richmond Community Services or find out more by contacting the Chief Inspector by email on 33211@police.nsw.gov.au
The meeting will run for around an hour, so get along and see how you can join up and make a difference for yourself and for other blokes across the Hawkesbury. You could even make some new mates and you’ll be in an environment which allows you to be yourself – give it a go.
