The fire broke out at approximately 7:30 pm last night, and rapidly took hold of the sprawling home despite best efforts by emergency services, including the Rural Fire Service, Fire and Rescue NSW, the NSW Police Force, and NSW Ambulance teams.

All seven occupants of the home managed a safe and unscathed escape, finding refuge with friends. It took firefighters hours to bring the blaze under control which was aided by the return of rain late in the evening.
NSW RFS spokesperson Matthew Lloyd told Nine News that it was a dangerous situation when emergency services arrived at the scene. “It was burning quite hot. It was a fairly significant fire. It extended throughout the roof cavity,” Lloyd said.
