Man struck by car in Schofields: Witnesses sought

Riverstone police are urgently seeking witnesses to an incident that occurred in Schofields earlier today, resulting in a man sustaining severe injuries after being struck by a car while crossing a road. Police were notified of the incident before emergency services were dispatched to Schofields Road, Schofields, just before 7:15 am. Upon arrival, they discovered a man, believed to be in his 40s, suffering from head and internal injuries.

A medical team, accompanied by a Toll helicopter, was deployed to the scene and landed at a nearby sports complex. The injured man received immediate medical attention before he was transported to Westmead Hospital via road for further treatment. The extent and nature of the injuries sustained by the victim remain undisclosed at this time.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident, a 29-year-old woman, has been arrested for the purposes of mandatory testing. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, and officers from the Riverstone Police Area Command have established a crime scene in the vicinity to gather evidence and conduct inquiries.
