Matilda superstar Courtney Nevin surprises Pitt Town FC
As anticipation builds for the Matildas’ clash against Nigeria in Brisbane tomorrow night at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, one of Hawkesbury’s shining stars, Courtney Nevin, took a moment to spread some good luck to local team, Pitt Town FC, who are gearing up for their own finals.
In a short video, Nevin took time from her busy Matildas schedule, to send best wishes to the Pitt Town players, encouraging them for their upcoming finals which kick off in the Nepean/Hawkesbury this weekend.
Also known as “Lethal”, Nevin’s dedication to football has brought her remarkable success as she represents Australia in the Women’s World Cup. After a win against Ireland on Monday night, the 21-year-old from Oakville is preparing to face Nigeria tomorrow night in Brisbane, followed by a match against Canada on Monday.
Nevin’s journey began as a junior at Oakville FC and has since seen a meteoric rise since her professional debut with the Western Sydney Wanderers in 2018. Now, she is a key player in the Matildas squad having been a regular since 2021. Now based in the UK, Nevin recently made a permanent move to Leicester City WFC after a successful loan this year.
We wish all teams the best of luck!
