Missing Man Found Deceased in Hawkesbury

A 22-year-old man who had gone missing on Saturday, September 23, 2023, in Sydney’s North Shore, has been discovered deceased in Hawkesbury bushland.

The man was last seen in Neutral Bay at around 9am on Saturday, prompting concerns for his safety and sparking a search operation led by officers from the North Shore Police Area Command.

On Monday, September 25, 2023, at approximately 9 pm, authorities received a crucial lead – the man’s vehicle had been located in the Hawkesbury area. This development shifted the focus of the search to the Hawkesbury region. Officers from the Hawkesbury Police Area Command scoured the nearby bushland in their to locate the missing man but were met with no success.

Local law enforcement resumed their search efforts at around 9 am on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. This time, their search party was bolstered by the involvement of PolAir, Police Rescue teams, and SES personnel. Tragically, shortly after resuming their search, the body of a man was discovered in the Hawkesbury bushland. Although the man has not yet been formally identified, it is believed to be the missing individual.

Initial investigations have indicated that there is no suspicion of foul play. A report will be compiled and submitted to the Coroner for further examination.
