Penrith is ‘lit’ these school holidays

Jul 7, 2023

Westfield Penrith will illuminate its Riley Street Dining Precinct with an 11-day interactive lights festival of immersive installations, bubble dancers and glitter tattoos

Westfield Penrith welcomes a series of interactive light installations designed to create an immersive artistic and vibrant journey at the Riley Street Dining Precinct. From Thursday 6 July to Sunday 16 July, a colourful art display and sculpture will be showcased during the 11-day festival, with a range of activities, dining offers, and entertainment to keep visitors of all ages entertained over the school holidays.

Customers are invited to enjoy the light installations around the precinct, featuring multifunctional work by Sydney-based design studio, Atelier Sisu, titled ‘Plasma’. The installation is a conceptual representation of the conductive properties of atoms located within a plasma reaction and how highly electrical reactions disperse light and energy when disturbed. The artwork is a playful experience for customers to ignite their curiosity about energy phenomena.

From Thursday to Saturday, a plethora of roving entertainment, including a bubble dancer and a bubble artist on stilts, will skilfully create whimsical bubbles that float through the air, delighting children and adults alike. Families can enjoy pearlescent face painting and glitter tattoos to add touch of sparkle and excitement to their festival experience.

Westfield Penrith Centre Manager, Matilde Princiotta, said the interactive lights festival is an unmissable event that brings together art, entertainment, and family fun in the heart of Penrith.

“’Pop Into Penrith’ is a dynamic event that provides an innovative social experience and brings the Western Sydney community together. We look forward to welcoming our customers and their families to the Riley Street Dining Precinct this Winter for an immersive light adventure.”

Customers can visit the Riley Street Dining Precinct at Westfield Penrith to attend the ‘Pop Into Penrith’ from Thursday 6 July to Sunday 16 July from 4pm – 9pm daily.
