Pink Royale sees new chapter for Pink Finss with men now supported too, thanks to $100,000 donation
Pink Finss Charity founder, Jodie Amor, has announced the leading Hawkesbury cancer support charity will now be opening up to support men of the Hawkesbury diagnosed with cancer, in addition to helping women.

The move was announced at the hugely successful Pink Royale fund-raising event held this last weekend at a fun night at the Windsor Function Centre, which brought a whole lot of Vegas to the Hawkesbury and raised $75,000.
“We have developed skills, experience and connections over the last 12 years that make us who we are today and we feel because of this we have become a hub of information and a place that people of the Hawkesbury can go to when diagnosed with cancer,” says Ms Amor.
The move to spread their wings and help men too has become possible thanks to the Hawkesbury Living Cancer Trust and the Richmond Club Group who have been supporters of Pink Finss for many years and who pledged $100,000 on Saturday for the initial set up of the Pink Finss Men’s Chapter.
There’s also an ongoing financial commitment from the two organisations to ensure the program continues into the future.

Guest speaker Captain Hugo Toovey spoke at the fund-raising event and told of his own cancer diagnosis at age 25 and a subsequent bowel cancer diagnosis a few years later.
“What we are trying to get men to understand is that cancer can happen at any age,” Ms Amor said, “and just like Hugo,
“Men can feel like they are invincible and keep on keeping on without saying anything about their symptoms, but early diagnosis is key and men need to understand the importance of looking after themselves and communicating more.”
On Saturday, the night lit up with casino gaming kicking off, silent auctions, live auctions, topped off with live entertainment by local band Woodford who kept everyone on their feet and dancing.
Thanks to the 250 guests, the Pink Finss raised $75,000 which will now help fund the programs offered to women and men of the Hawkesbury.
“Spreading the word is what is important for us now and is what we will be focusing on moving forward, Ms Amor said.
“This will not impact the work that we already do for the women. We ask anyone who knows of a man in the Hawkesbury who has been diagnosed with cancer to contact us if they are needing support,” she said.
