Police appeal for public’s help after Bligh Park gangland shooting

Raptor Squad officers are appealing for public assistance to identify a distinctive Ford Mustang, as they continue their investigations into the shooting of an Outlaw Motor Cycle Gang (OMCG) member on Tuesday morning at Bligh Park.

At 9.30am on Tuesday, a 31-year-old man drove himself to Hawkesbury Hospital with non life-threatening gun-shot wounds after being shot on Bounty Crescent, Bligh Park.

Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command spoke with the man – who is a known Rebels OMCG member.

A short time later, a crime scene was established outside a premises on Bounty Crescent.

A second crime scene was also se-up on Bonnor Road, following the discovery of a burnt-out vehicle, which has now been identified as a bright red/orange Ford Mustang.

Both vehicles have been seized for forensic examination.

Officers from State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad are investigating the circumstances surrounding how the man came to be shot and are appealing for information.

In particular, detectives believe someone may have seen the distinctive red/orange Ford Mustang in the Bligh Park or Agnes Banks areas around the time of the incident.

Anyone who was in the area and happens to have dashcam footage from those areas yesterday morning and who may have recorded footage of a vehicle matching the description are urged to contact Raptor Squad officers via Crime Stoppers.
