The weekend….The Hawkesbury Remakery
Plenty going on in Windsor this long weekend. The town’s stallholders are pulling put all the stops, so pay them a visit and shop local.
One of the Remakery stand-outs this weekend are bound to be the lovely half aprons made by Hawkesbury resident Ursula Walker.
“I wanted to create a project that would make it possible to find a use for small bits of fabric that otherwise would be thrown out,” Ms Walker said.
“I think for many people the frilly half aprons are reminiscent of their mothers and grandmothers baking in the kitchen in earlier eras. I hope the retro design combined with the modern fabrics will make them popular as well as practical – and save some fabric from landfill.”
