URGENT RECALL: Fiber Fresh Products
An urgent product recall has been issued for horse feed product Fiber Fresh after animal contaminants were found in three bags of Fiber Protect.
The New Zealand based company has written to Australian customers advising them to take “urgent action” to remove the products from sale and secure the bags. The recall is for all Fiber Fresh products, including Fiber Protect, Fiber Ezy and Fiber Mix.
“The Department has now required that any Fiber Fresh product you hold be removed from sale or other movement and secured. Please secure in situ (in place) with appropriate labelling such as “Biosecurity Directions Pending Not for Sale or Further Movement,” Fiber Fresh Acting Chair Des Gittings wrote in a letter to customers.
A separate statement posted on the company’s Facebook page said the company was working closely with the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry (DAFF) to resolve the issue.
“The Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry (DAFF) has initiated a temporary hold on these products due to three confirmed instances of foreign material found in bags. Despite this being an Australian issue, transparency is our utmost priority, and we are actively addressing this matter,” the company said.
The company said that New Zealand products are unaffected as are other international markets.
“Your trust is of paramount importance to us, and we remain fully committed to a swift and transparent resolution of this matter. We deeply appreciate your continued support and understanding,” the company said.
