“Vigorous” and possibly damaging winds today and Saturday

Today will see some pick-up in wind across the Hawkesbury and into Saturday with the potential for damaging winds as a deep low-pressure system rolls across the region.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology “vigorous and damaging winds”, averaging 60 to 70 km/h with gusts in excess of 90 km/h, are possible in the Blue Mountains and will potentially impact the Hawkesbury too, by Saturday.

The conditions will ease by Sunday, says Early Warning Network, who provide alerts for Hawkesbury Post utilising BOM warnings.
