Welcome to our new local police officers
We put up a story a short while ago about the latest recruits to come out of the Goulburn Police Academy, with the news that Hawkesbury Police Area Command was to get two new officers – well, here they are.
Say hello to Probationary Constable Joshua, and Probationary Constable Alexandra who are now pounding the beat in the Hawkesbury.
Hawkesbury MP Robyn Preston, Probationary Constable Joshua, Probationary Constable Alexandra, and Detective Acting Superintendent Hawkesbury PAC, Paul McHugh
Hawkesbury MP Robyn Preston met the new probationary constables yesterday and welcomed them to the area.
“Our new police officers have chosen a career of service and will be a vital asset to the people of Hawkesbury,” Ms Preston said.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the new officers for their contribution and congratulate them on the start of their exciting careers.”
The new police officers have completed eight months of foundational training and have reported to their new stations.
Goulburn Academy’s Class 345 graduated 139 men and 55 women.
Some recruits entered the NSW Police Academy straight from school or university, while others left established professional careers and trades such as teachers, ambulance officers and even a jockey.
The NSW government has committed $583 million over four years to deliver 1500 new police officers – the biggest single increase for the NSW Police Force in more than 30 years.
