Woman charged with intent to murder after crashing into house
A woman has been charged with intent to murder after allegedly hitting a man before crashing into a house in Schofields.
At about 3pm on Tuesday, emergency services were called to Sciberras Avenue, Schofields, following reports a vehicle had left the roadway and struck a house.
Officers attached to Riverstone Police Area Command attended and found a 38-year-old man with serious injuries; it’s alleged he was struck by the vehicle before it crashed into a house.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle – a 44-year-old woman – was also injured. She was arrested before being taken to Blacktown Hospital in a stable condition.
Early yesterday morning, the woman was released from hospital and taken to Riverstone Police Station.
She was charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder (DV) and cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent (DV).
She was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today (Wednesday 9 August 2023), where she was formally refused bail to appear before Penrith Local Court on Friday 6 October 2023.
