Greens, Shooters and Les Sheather will be on Council – 2 seats still undecided
The full results won’t officially be announced until December 20, and this morning counting continues in the Hawkesbury local council election, but with 45% of the vote counted, the ABC are calling it for The Greens’ Danielle Wheeler who will return to Council, plus Shooters, Fishers and Farmers’ Shane Djuric making that party’s first appearance, and Les Sheather who has previously sat on the Council.
There are still two undecided, they will become clearer as the vote count continues today.
So, on Monday morning the state of the groups is: 4 Liberals, 1 Labor, 1 Shooters, 1 People not Parties, 1 Greens, 1 Les Sheather, 1 Nathan Zamprogno.
There are a large number of informal votes (2825 so far) – which are votes that have either been spoiled or not filled in correctly, so they are put to one side and not included. Currently that’s 13% of votes, up from just over 7% informal votes at the last local election.
Given the number of votes still to count, the final result could change a bit, but it certainly looks like the councillors called by the ABC are in – the main focus now is on who the remaining two councillors will be.
