The seven young girls, given the honor of being mascots by Football Australia, ran out hand-in-hand with their idols, highlighting the importance of grassroots passion in the sport’s growth.

The Matildas clinched a thrilling victory, scoring two decisive goals against China before an electrified crowd of 76,798 fans.
