Motorcyclist dies on BLOR at Mt Tomah after collision with truck

Aug 28, 2022

A motorcycle rider has died on Bells Line of Road this afternoon after a collision with a truck.

Just before 3.50pm on Sunday, emergency services were called to Bells Line of Road at Mount Tomah following reports a truck and motorcycle had collided.

When they arrived, police found a male motorcyclist suffering significant injuries.

Despite the efforts of other motorists, who rendered assistance before the arrival of emergency services, say police, the man died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the truck has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Blue Mountains Police Area Command have set-up a crime scene and begun inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Bells Line of Road is currently closed in both directions between Darling Causeway at Bell and Mount Tomah.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
