VIDEO – FLOOD WATCH – Killarney Chain of Ponds this morning…

Video here taken by resident Michael Greentree this morning around 8am at Killarney Chain of Ponds near Oakville, which flows into McKenzies Creek, a tributary of the Hawkesbury River.

Long time Hawkesbury resident Mr Greentree says it’s been a natural ford for a very long time and after the March floods Hawkesbury Council put in sandstone blocks for bank stabilisation but many of those have been swept aside this morning.

“Unfortunately this is a natural ford,” he says. “It will constantly flood during moderate and heavy rain and it is a total waste of ratepayer and taxpayer money pretending this

flood-prone waterway can be tamed,” he says.
