WARRAGAMBA DAM – side gates opening for an hour today…”POTENTIAL SPILLS OVER COMING DAYS…”
Not a major issue at the moment, but just in case you notice the river water level has gone up in the next few hours, here’s why.
WaterNSW has just told us they will be opening what they call the “side radial gates” for an hour from 9am today, “as part of preparations ahead of potential spills over the coming days”.
The gates will be open to approximately 4% for an hour today.
There will be “minimal downstream impacts expected,” says WaterNSW.
The Dam level is at 97.8% at noon today – Friday – that’s up 0.6% over yesterday and they will be letting more water out during the next few days as this rainfall we’ve been having finds its way into the Dam storage areas.
We’ll keep you posted…
