$75m Wisemans Surf Lodge given the green light
The Wisemans Surf Lodge, a $75m 45-acre project on the banks of the Hawkesbury River at Wisemans Ferry, has been given the green light by Hills Shire council and will feature a state-of-the-art wave pool the size of four football fields, able to generate swells up to 2.5 metres high every 17 seconds and rides of 10 to 12 seconds.
There will also be a nine-hole golf course, 54 suites, a member clubhouse and conference facilities.
The massive development is planned to be open within two years and is the brainchild of world champion surfers world champions Stephanie Gilmore and Joel Parkinson.
The resort’s land on Old Northern Road is owned by Ace Chief Group, which paid $7.25 million for it in 2016.
Construction of the surf lodge will begin in the second or third quarter of next year, with the opening scheduled for 2022.
