Man charged with midnight stabbing in Richmond

A Richmond man has been charged following a stabbing overnight in a unit on Lennox Street.

 

Just after midnight, early this morning – Sunday – emergency services were called to the unit on Lennox Street where they found a man with multiple stab wounds and cuts.

 

The 35-year-old was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment.

 

Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command set-up a crime scene at the unit and began an investigation.

 

Police were told the man was involved in an argument with another man before he was stabbed.

 

Following inquiries, officers arrested a 24-year-old man in nearby Windsor Street a short time later.

 

The Richmond man was taken to Windsor Police Station where he was charged with wounding with intent.

 

He’s been refused bail and will appear at Penrith Local Court tomorrow – Monday.

 

The injured man remains in hospital being treated for non life-threatening injuries.
