Police Arson Unit release CCTV vision of SUV following deliberately lit Bligh Park house fire

Aug 13, 2021

Senior police from the Financial Crimes Arson Squad will take the rare step of holding a media conference this morning at NSW Police HQ following the release of CCTV vision of a vehicle of interest as investigations continue into the suspicious house fire earlier this year.

The fire gutted home in February

The Post covered the story back in February after emergency services were called to Neilson Crescent following reports of a fire at 5.20am on Thursday February 4.

Multiple Fire & Rescue NSW crews attended and put the blaze out but the home was completely destroyed. No-one was found in the home at the time.

See video of the SUV below.

In the video, the SUV can be seen at Bligh Park and also driving past Hawkesbury Council offices.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Puffett, the Financial Crimes Squad’s Arson Unit Coordinator will speak this morning to media at 10am outside the Curtis Cheng Centre – NSW Police Headquarters in Parramatta and ask the public for help.

Detectives have released CCTV of a vehicle of interest, seen in the Bligh Park and South Windsor areas around the time of the fire.

The vehicle is a modified grey or silver coloured 4WD, with black rims, roof racks containing a retractable sunshade, and rooftop solar panels.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or its occupants is urged to contact Windsor Police on 4587 4099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.

The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
