Aug 5, 2022

A police officer has been charged with assault following investigations by officers from North-West Metropolitan Region into reports of an alleged assault by an on-duty police officer at Bligh Park on Friday, February 18.

Following inquiries, a senior constable – attached to a command in the North-West Metropolitan Region – was issued a court attendance notice on Thursday.

The officer was charged with three counts of common assault, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, plus a charge of ‘remain on inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse’.
