Windsor South Public School temporarily closed due to COVID
Parents and carers of children at Windsor South Public School have been told today a member of the school community has tested positive for COVID.
“Our school will be non-operational effective immediately… to allow time for contact tracing and cleaning,” Principal Belinda Bristol told parents and carers of the Church St, South Windsor school this evening.
There is no news at the moment when the school might re-open.
All staff and students are asked to self-isolate until they receive further advice. There is no requirement to get tested at this time, said Mrs Bristol.
NSW Health says anyone who has been unwell, or if they develop any symptoms such as a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting or extreme tiredness, should get tested.
“While we recognise this will be disruptive and inconvenient for families, it is important that we follow NSW Health advice and take all necessary precautions to minimise the risk of further transmission to support our community,” said Mrs Bristol.
