Business matters with the Mayor
Hawkesbury Mayor, Councillor Patrick Conolly, visited several business owners this month to see how businesses are faring in the difficult times we all find ourselves in.
During October, Hawkesbury City Council, in partnership with Hawkesbury City Chamber of Commerce, has been celebrating Small Business Month by hosting a series of webinars and online forums for local Hawkesbury businesses.
“Small businesses are a vital part of our local community. We know our local businesses have been hit hard during the pandemic, and before that with the drought, bushfires and floods,” Mayor Conolly said.
“It was great to touch base with some of our local business operators and it was actually reassuring to know that they are making their way through 2020, and that they are feeling more supported by Council and the NSW Government during these difficult times.”
Local businesses the Mayor visited during Small Business Month included Tusken Engineering www.tuskenengineering.com.au in South Windsor and the Teardrop Camper Company www.theteardropcampercompany.com.au in South Windsor.
Council supported several seminars during the month, including Anna Samos on small businesses’ success, Robert Gerrish on ‘Thinking outside the Box through Disruption’, Linden Regina from the Australian Taxation Office on Starting a Small Business and Home Based Business Packages, and Kristie Petersen from the Rural Financial Counselling Service with Small Business Tips.
