Minor flooding likely at North Richmond this morning – bridge “may close with further river rises”

Mar 30, 2022

This morning’s flood and river update from Western Sydney SES says if there are further river rises it’s a possibility both North Richmond and Yarramundi Bridge may close.

At 5am this morning though all local river levels were steady, and falling at Sackville.

“Recent rainfall across the Hawkesbury Nepean Valley has caused river level rises in its upper tributaries,” says the SES update.

“Along the Hawkesbury River, minor flooding is likely at North Richmond Wednesday morning on the high tide.”

What we are expecting, says SES:

“The Hawkesbury River at North Richmond may peak near 4.00 metres around 03:00 pm Wednesday with minor flooding on the high tide.

“Based on the prediction provided by the Bureau of Meteorology it is expected the following areas may be impacted by floodwaters:

o Possible flooding of low lying areas

o The North Richmond Bridge may close with further river rises

o The Yarramundi Bridge between Yarramundi and Agnes Banks may close with further river rises”.
