Two Hawkesbury locals take out top honours at Australian Showjumping Championships in Victoria

Feb 10, 2022

Eighteen-year old, Clemency Hughes was crowned Australian Junior Showjumping Champion following three days of gruelling competition against the best riders in the country at the Pryde’s Easifeed Australian Jumping Championships in Boneo on the weekend.

Riding her warmblood mare, Diamond B Corvina, Clemency delivered a fantastic double clear performance on the final day of competition to take home the Australian title.

Just hours later, fellow Hawkesbury resident, Chris Chugg, rode into the ring chasing his sixth Australian title on his grey stallion, Cera Cassiago.

After two days of brilliant performance from Chris, a couple of rails in the final saw him have to settle for Runner up Australian Senior Showjumping Champion, but what a performance from the young rider.
