Windsor man in court today – charged with alleged online grooming
Forty-six-year-old thought he was talking to 13-year-old girl – police allege
In August last year, detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crime Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU) began engaging online with a man from Windsor.
Police will allege in court today – Friday – that the man believed he was speaking with a 13-year-old girl and he engaged in sexually explicit conversations.
Following extensive investigations, Strike Force Trawler detectives arrested a 46-year-old man at a home in Windsor just before 7.30am on Tuesday March 30.
A search warrant was executed at the home, and police seized mobile phones and electronic devices.
The man was taken to Windsor Police Station and charged with using a carriage service to groom a person under 16 years.
The man was refused bail and appeared at Penrith Local Court on March 30 where he was granted strict conditional bail to appear at the same court today – Friday.
